Final Fantasy maker Square Enix hacked

This article explains about hackers breaking into two websites that belong to Japanese video games maker Square Enix. The company is inventor of the popular Final Fantasy, Dues Ex and Tomb Raider games.

The company also confirms that email addresses of approximately 25,000 customers might have been stolen included much more, therefore apologize for this breach.

After this episode occurred, the company decided immediately to take the sites offline and investigate further into this. I find it extremely funny about timing on their actions and at same time think “Too bad, too late”.

A consultant “Graham Cluley” at security firm Sophos had some statements that should be considered in my opinion. For more details, read the article.

The last part in the article is discussed more or less about some of the hackers involved in this process.

In the end, I find all this as a loss for the company putting them in a bad position.
